Project Experience
Every year, the Hearth & Hand + Magnolia’s partnership’s holiday collection is the biggest and most beloved of the seasonal cycles amongst the Magnolia brand loyalist Target guest. On my end, it’s always exciting to direct and design for. This particular cycle from 2023 was the most successful of the holiday collections for Hearth & Hand with Magnolia since I began working on this dotcom experience in 2020.
Using video in the header delights and inspires the guest as they landed on this brand page, and showcases Joanna Gaines as a thoughtful curator and designer. Another fun aspect of the holiday season is that I get to deviate from the usual Hearth & Hand with Magnolia brand guidelines and align to Target’s overarching holiday style guide. Cozy accent holiday colors really make the beautiful imagery shine throughout the page.
The still photography below is made in collaboration with the social media senior art director on this project and Joanna’s Magnolia creative team. While the Magnolia team handled the on-site photoshoot in Texas, those of us on the Target creative team in Minnesota provided the featured product selections, location suggestions, image crops, set and art direction, retouching notes, and approvals for each image.
